Selections for 3rd April

After a blank week as far as possible races goes we have a glut today but I have picked out 3 to target.

It’s All Weather Finals day at Newcastle and Lingfield.

At Newcastle I have two against the field in the 15:35

Marshman 2 pts win at 6/1 with Bet365 (7/1 if you qualify for their bet boost offer)

Ferrous 2 pts win at 7/1 with Bet365

Marshman has been dropped 5lbs since finishing 3rd off 110 in this race last year after a couple of lesser efforts before a close 3rd over 7f in a Listed race at Wolverhampton last month . I expect him to go very close.

Ferrous ran up a hat trick at this time last season and though 3lb higher than the last win over C&D is only 1lb higher than for a close second 2 runs ago in a race not run to suit . The likely stronger pace and stiff finish should suit .

At Lingfield I like the following :

Intervention 1pt e/w at 16/1 (4 places) Bet365

15:15

Metallo 1pt e/w at 11/1 (4 places) Bet365

Intervention has 4 wins and 3 2nd places over c&d from 11 attempts and is below his last winning mark (6lbs below peak winning mark) he has been running well and I am hopeful the return to this venue will spark some improvement

Metallo, though yet to win a handicap, went close behind Wyld Bill 3 runs back off today’s mark (3lb better off today ) and ran well over an inadequate trip last time so I’m hopeful of a big run .
