Back in Black appeals as one to go close and I was keen on it until seeing that it is 9/2 favourite which is too short for me in a race like this.

Being drawn above 15 in these big fields is a definite disadvantage according to the stats which ruled out many that showed up well on my figures and some that feature near the top of the market, I have decided to go with an each way bet on Al Mubhir. He was a class horse for William Haggas in 2024 winning a listed race and running well in a couple of Group 3s before a trip to Australia where he ran down the field in a couple of Grade 1s. Now with Kevin Ryan and after a wind operation, if he has retained any of his old ability he could run into a place at 50/1.
