Selections for 14/04/2026

Finally the flat season is starting to stutter into life with a few meetings and today had 2 races that fit the bill for my study. However , the 16:45 looks tricky with the most likely victor being Great Chieftain but I am not certain enough to take the 9/4 on offer.

In the 15:35 the one that stands out by some way on my figures is Existent. He is an infrequent winner but broke a long losing streak 2 runs back and didn't run too badly last time in a race that has thrown up 4 individual winners since .

This time last year he went close several times including being beaten a head by Regal Envoy who opposes here. The selection was 5lb higher that day and Regal Envoy was in the middle of a very hot streak that included this race.

Unfortunately I missed the early 17/2 and there is some confidence behind him as he is now 6/1 with Paddy Power and 7/1 with Bet365.
