Selections 26/04/2026

After a good day yesterday there are a few good class 4 races at Musselburgh and a class 3 at Nottingham.

Firstly the 16:25 at Nottingham. There is a very short priced favourite in Nad Alshiba Green and it does look quite strong although 5/4 seems way too short and the money for her means that my selection, Nogos Dream is a backable each way price at 10/1 with both Paddy Power and Bet365.

The selection is 2lb below a winning mark and goes well after a break which is important as it is over 2 months since his last run. He has not run at the course before and his best RPRs have been recorded at sharp tracks. While you would not necessarily describe Nottingham as sharp, the 5f there is flat with no real bias when stalls are in the centre so its a pure speed test. Richard Hughes has had 10 win or placed runners from 24 in the last fortnight so the stable is in good form.

At Musselburgh in the 17:45, Abduction comes so far ahead on my ratings under these conditions that I could not ignore him. He won off 74 over c&d 2 weeks ago and runs off 76 today but with Shay Farmer's 7lb claim he is effectively running off 69 which, considering he won off 73 on the AW in January and 80 on the turf at Chester in August makes him very well treated.

The race should be run to suit with plenty of pace on and 13/2 with Paddy Power BOG or 15/2 with Bet365 (Bet Boost price, does not attract BOG) seems very fair.
