Selections 25th April 2026

The flat season is still very quiet and the higher quality races are still hard to come by. Today there are just two to look at but I have selections in both .

In the 16:10 at Ripon Dream Composer is on a ridiculously low mark after drawing a blank last season. He is 15lb below his last winning mark and 19lb below his close second on reappearance last season. If you factor in the jockey's claim he is fully 26lb below his reappearance run last year. He also ran well on debut the previous season and the fact that he has already been trimmed from 14s to 8s would indicate he is ready to go .

In the 14:05 at Leicester Strike Red is well clear on my figures, is 7lb below a winning mark and 12lb below the mark off which he ran 2nd in this race last year. He has also run well on both starts over C&D, twice coming second and should be fit after a good run at Newcastle 12 days ago.
