Another big price place with Intervention finishing strongly after being forced very wide by the loose horse snatching 4th at 22/1

Metallo ran a good race and is going in the notebook . Being drawn wide he was dropped in but the race was run at an absolute dawdle and those horses in the front rank remained there throughout. Forced to challenge very wide on the bend he nonetheless ran on and finished 6th, best of those not in the front rank.

The sprint at Newcastle was an odd race.

Run into a fierce headwind, it soon became clear that the leaders were at a big disadvantage and so it proved with the pacesetters fading to finish in rear while the first three home were all slowly away and coasting along at the back of an 11 horse windbreak before weaving their way through in the last furlong past Ferrous who was 3rd for the first 5f with no cover and hit the front 1f from home only to fade into 5th . This was a really good performance and I will be keeping a watch for his next run,

Marshman who was backed into joint favourite seemingly had no excuse , positioned in the middle of the pack he just failed to pick up.
