Results 09/05/2026

Well another cracking day yesterday as The Wizard of Eye won the Victoria Cup at 20/1 and at Nottingham Degale was 3rd at 22/1, just getting run down in the last 50 yards after leading all the way.

It was an excellent run from The Wizard of Eye and like A Piece of Heaven the previous day, panned out just as I had hoped, he sat in the slipstream of the pace setter Jordan Electrics, before elbowing his way through and striking the front with a furlong to go and from that point it was never in doubt.

My gamble that Degale would return to form back on turf almost paid off as he ran with zest from the start, travelling strongly and repelling challengers until the last 50 yards when favourite Principality and Helm Rock, both challenging far away from him edged past . He goes into my tracker but he wont be 22/1 again!
